We watched the rugby at the Morgan’s Bay hotel where Jono made friends with another youngster who lives in Maseru. Soon after the game started Jason came through to the dinning room where we were finishing off supper and proclaimed that it no fun as the English were already 6-3 down. I wonder if Jono even knew what all the fuss was about but he did know something was going on and he still talks about Jason asking if we are going back again. He very much wanted to take him to a coffee shop which had a tree house which we had stopped at. Yellow wood Park is the sort of place that’s open all the time except when its closed and where we had the choice of waffles. There is also an art shop where we bought the most practical sand pit toy one could ever hope to find in an art shop. It consists of a seat two control leavers and a very practical looking scoop. No plastic and besides keeping the boys busy for hours, it looks virtually indestructible. Weather prevented us from taking Jason but that was just an adults excuse and I will know better next time.

Thursday, August 9th, 2007You have got to develop a thick skin as a parent of young children. Its all part of growing up and becoming old. But it would be nice to know which catering and accommodation places do genuinely welcome children and those that are just a paste on of that tired patronising smile as you sign the credit card slip.
