That flu eventually hit us all and required three or four courses on antibiotics to put it down. Fortunately we had a brief respite over the holidays. But that was short lived as David once again, picked up the tummy bug that was doing the rounds during holiday care. And we are now trying to shake off the flu that’s not quite flu and which we pass from one to other without it actually developing into anything we can nail down.
We also like to drive out to Keurbooms regulary and visit the Heath along the way. Although we started with the drive and then a pizza lunch at Enrico’s. It was a lovely day, the parking lot at Keurbooms was full and despite the fact it is not cheap we do keep coming back. After lunch we stopped at the Heath on the way back to Knysna and bought this and that at the shop that stocks interesting things. The kids ran wild and I walked the labyrinth for the first time. There is a nice feel to the place and whilst they are maybe stretching it a bit when they claim that they have the best coffee on the N2, I never knew that there was difference between a maze and a labyrinth, so why worry?
Chillie Rose restaurant was created by parents of three girls, currently aged three, two and one. As is the case for almost all parents in Knysna it is difficult to house to rent that is “kiddie” friendly, let alone a restaurant that you can relax with the children.
Our mission statement is ”It’s for the Children”. We focus on affordable food for children and
adults. A stunning roast buffet on a Sunday, and a place for moms while dad is fishing or golfing.
Our garden is totally secured and fenced off to the waters edge, we also have a jungle gym,
bunnies and birds with a postcard view of the old railway bridge. We are also an internet
hot spot.
Our activity room focuses more on practical tasks, lots of glitter, glue, crayons, etc.
Children can also “build” their own pizza’s if they fill creative.
The restaurant area its self has a lounge area with a fire place, a bar area and a seperate dining area which can seat 70 people.
We aree open to suggestions on activities and perhaps weekend educationals, and get more parents involved in being children again.
In a nut shell Chillie Rose is a place where parents can either relax and not worry about their children or get involved in jungle gyming and having some good old fun.
All at an affordable prices.
